Windies vs England – 3rd Test – Day 1 – Highlights

Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler on England rescue mission

England recover in dramatic late session against West Indies thanks to Buttler and Stokes stand

Lots of applause from those in the England camp as Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes walk off unbeaten, their partnership standing at 124 after navigating safe passage through the evening session. Stokes had that slice of fortune thanks to Alzarri Joseph overstepping, while Buttler looked scratchy early on – but West Indies were gradually worn down on an attritional day. Things did not start especially well, with Keaton Jennings looking a tortured man, but the rest of the England top order did their bit and, perhaps, with the series won, West Indies’ bowlers weren’t quite at their sharpest.
