Scorchers vs Renegades – Highlights – Big Bash League 2018-19 – 28th Jan, 2019

Season over for the Scorchers, A stunning display from the Renegades

Chris Tremain led a stunning display with the ball that saw the Renegades rip through Perth for 79 at Optus Stadium

Scorchers have been bowled out for 79, and even that looked distant when they were 12 for 4. Quite a shambolic performance by the home side. But fantastic bowling by Chris Tremain and Kane Richardson. Renegades’ 157 for 5 looked a little short at the halfway mark, but they’ve won by a whopping 78 runs. Renegades have risen to second on the points table with this win, while their net run-rate will also get a shot in the arm. Scorchers remain on the bottom.

The Next Stop: The Renegades have moved to second on the table and they’ll look to consolidate that position on Wednesday when they host the Sydney Thunder at Marvel Stadium. It’s officially season over for the Scorchers, so they’ll simply be looking for consolation points when they head to the Gabba on Friday to take on the Brisbane Heat.

Melbourne Renegades XI: Aaron Finch (c), Sam Harper (wk), Cameron White, Tom Cooper, Mackenzie Harvey, Daniel Christian, Mohammad Nabi, Cameron Boyce, Kane Richardson, Chris Tremain, Harry Gurney

Perth Scorchers XI: Cameron Bancroft (wk), Shaun Marsh, Ashton Turner, Mitchell Marsh (c), Hilton Cartwright, Nick Hobson, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Andrew Tye, Matthew Kelly, Jason Behrendorff, Usman Qadir
