Mumbai edge RCB by six runs as Malinga holds his nerve
Lasith Malinga bowled a superb last over when 18 was needed to win it and defended it splendidly despite an early six by Shivam Dube.
The last two deliveries needed to be dismissed for two fours, but it only went for three runs as Malinga was deadly accurate.
Mumbai struck 187 for eight and RCB answered with 181 for five.
During the Mumbai Indians innings, Hardik Pandya struck 32 off 14 balls and the last two overs were hammered for 30 runs. That proved to be crucial in the end, as Jasprit Bumrah and Malinga bowled excellently in the final two death overs.
Malinga’s last ball was a no-ball but the umpire did not spot it.
